g1 starter

I recently replaced my forward solenoid as it was bad. Now i have a new issue. It will start in reverse but not in forward. if i take the spark plug out it will run in the forward direction. Sounds like starter cant spin with enough force in to forward direction. Is there a way to check and repair this starter motor or do i have to buy a new one?

Hi Shrek. Is your battery fully charged, it should have over 12 volts.
