G16 carb trouble

Got my carb in for my G16 and it has 2 tubes to it 1 on a 90 stright down and the other straight out. My old one just has 1 tube. Could someone tell how to hook it up or will it even work on it? I did try it and hooked it up like I did the old one and the sec one just left open and it cranked up good and ran for about 2 miles and started acting up. Now when it turns over it kick gas over the other tube and want start.....This is a new carb not a rebuild....Thanks for any help....

yes a 96 g16 did get that fixed but now it does not shut down will idle for a min before cuttint of....Thanks
