gas yamaha golf cart 1983???

Purchased used cart and not sure of year. Think it is 83. Serial number written in marker on cart is J31-150197.

Wires are were broken and frayed when purchased. Replaced battery cables and wires. When I turned on lights (key was not in ignition) two of the wires burned out. The wires were attached to solenoids on back fender. I could have connected wires incorrectly.

I need a wiring diagram or any info anyone has.

Your G1 is a late 87 early 88. I found that out using this article here http://www.golfcart-forums.com/golf-...golf-cart.html

You must attach wires to the positive and negative terminals on the battery, if not it will short the solenoid connection and blow the inline fuse that goes to the solenoid.
