G16AP blows fuse

I have a G16Ap that blows the fuse as soon as I make the accelerator switch engage. I dis-connected the voltage regulator connector, stepped on the gas peddle and the fuse did not blow. Can I assume it is the voltage regulator that is faulty? Please advise and thank you

Hi Starboard. No do not assume yet that it is the voltage regulator, I would start by checking out the starter. It could be shorting out.
