I have tried everything suggested on this forum G1 wont run

Ok I have a 1981 G1 - two days before hurricane Irma it ran fine then it just stopped firing. Got fuel, pump works fine, got spark, got air. It wants to fire, but the only thing I get is a back fire. Oh and by the way. This board is awesome! I have been reading everything for a week and have already solved a few minor issues thanks to the advice posted here. Thank you! Just wondering if an electrical issue might be to blame.
