  • service / repair shops

I hoping you can help, I bought a used Yamaha G9 last year and i would like to get it checked out and serviced. (oil, belt tightened, brakes, etc).
can you recommend anyplace to take it. I'm in the Standish area, but drive up/down I-75 weekly.

For that area you might want to explore Plowman’s Carts. They’ve been around since the early 90s and are well known for their work on yamaha golf carts particularly with performance upgrades. From what I understand, they offer services like oil changes, belt adjustments, and brake checks.

Plowman’s is located in the Flint area which is a bit of a drive from Standish, but since you frequently travel along I-75, it might not be too far out of your way. They also specialize in Yamaha specific parts and performance improvements so it could be worth checking. On the other hand there may be other service centers closer to Standish or further along your regular route on I-75.

Call around a few places to compare offerings and see what works best for you. It’s always helpful to find a shop familiar with Yamaha carts especially if you're considering any upgrades, but for basic maintenance, other shops, even auto repair shops, could provide what you’re looking for.

For example, if you’re comfortable doing a bit of the legwork yourself, one option could be to request specific parts and instructions here in the forums. There are plenty of people here who’ve done similar projects... and you can often get written advice and instructions right here, whether it’s oil changes, belt adjustments, brake repairs.

Once you have the parts information, you could buy everything yourself and bring it along to any repair shop. Even if the shop isn't specialized in golf carts, as long as they have the parts and clear instructions, most mechanics will be able to handle the job without issue. It’s a more hands on approach but it opens up your options to a wider range of shops.
