It’s always a pain when something like this happens out of the blue, but we’ll troubleshoot and get to the bottom of it. Sounds like you’ll need to make sure you’re getting 12V going into the stop switch first. When you press the gas pedal, you should then get 12V coming out of the stop switch. From there, 12V should flow to the solenoid. I typically see 12V coming from the battery to the solenoid, but the key part is making sure the pedal switch is sending that 12V to the solenoid when pressed. Once that happens, the solenoid should engage, and the starter will crank. Double check those connections to make sure you're getting the right voltage at each step.
First, make sure your battery is fully charged and capable of holding a charge. Check the battery voltage with a multimeter and if necessary run a load test to confirm it’s in good condition. A weak or undercharged battery could be the root of the issue.
Once you’ve confirmed the battery is solid, check that you’re getting 12V going into the stop switch. When you press the gas pedal, you should get 12V coming out of the switch. Then, confirm you’re getting 12V at the small post on the solenoid when the pedal is pressed as that’s what engages the solenoid and allows the starter to crank. If the voltage isn't present at any point, you’ll need to trace back through the wiring to identify the problem.
