Pushrod came loose

hello I have a 92 g9 that was running fine went out next day and would not go . pulled valve cover found pushrod laying loose. went ahead and pulled head. The piston and cylinder looks real good no slope or scratches. can I just reassemble or is there something I should look for? is there a timing issue I should look at? thanks for any help.

how does the tappet/lifter look? make sure the pushrod is not bent. can you turn the engine and watch the tappet/lifter move up and down? have any picks? i'm not very familiar with the g9 engine.
