Replaced brushes in starter, put in new battery, solenoid, and voltage regulator. Starts fine but does not charge battery. There is 5 ohms on red and green wire coming out of S/G. There is 10 volts on red wire on Voltage Regulator. Black ground is good. There is 10 volts on red wire going to solenoid. Battery is at 12or 13 volts until cart is running and it goes to 11 volts when revived up. Need help.

4.5 to 5.5 ohms is good for charging coil.
Service manual is here http://www.golfcartsforum.com/golf-c...ce-manual.html take a look at page 228.
Remove drive belt. With engine running at about 2500rpm's check from battery negative to the green wire terminal on S/G, you should have around 14.5 to 15.5 VDC. This is before the regulator so the voltage maybe more. Also check the Red wire terminal at S/G, should have battery voltage with engine running. If you don't have these voltages check the connections and push connectors for corrosion.Updated by wthompson; December 29, 2013, 10:59 AM.
