  • OIL leaking G-14

I just finished rebuilding the motor, but now have an oil leak. The drain plug is clean and dry. Could it be at the oil sensor, and how hard is it to replace that?

    Thanks

It sounds like your G14 could have a leak near the dipstick, which might be coming from the crankcase gasket. Clean up all the oil and mess to pinpoint the source. The oil seems to be seeping from the mating surfaces right by the dipstick tube, which is a somewhat common issue. Other likely suspects include the valve cover gasket or the rocker oiling circuit. To pinpoint the leak, clean the entire area thoroughly with degreaser and then run the engine briefly to see where the oil starts to appear. You can also use a UV dye and a UV light to help identify the exact source of the leak. Inspect these areas carefully to determine the exact source of the leak before proceeding with repairs.
