Yamaha G1 trouble.

Hello everyone. New here. I just bought a handfull. thought it was a good deal but am finding that this might be a big project. it had a bad muffler, replaced that. easy one. now i have some grinding, metalic noise coming from engine/clutch. I grabed the end of the primary clutch and there is some up and down play in it. i checked the crank seal and that seems to be fine. (engine did not rev when i sprayed wd-40). The noise is loud enough that you can not have convo while riding on it. Could this be anything other than a crank bearing? is this a tough job to change?

I have same cart and would like to know if you are interested in buying engine . I cant get running but has nothing to do with engine, just curious

the aluminum shield over the gas tank should also cover the fuel line and filter

I'm having similar problem, but mine only makes noise when decelerating
I think it's in the clutch. I will let you know what I figure out.
