g9 starter concerns?

I have a gas g9 cart, after a while, the starter stops working. I replaced the brushes and it worked great for about three rounds of golf then stoped working. I took the starter apart and found the armature very worn. I replaced the starter w/ a brand new unit and it lasted for about three rounds of golf, now one brush is totally worn and others look fairly new. The starter will not operate in or out of the cart now. Does any one know of any thing that can cause starter failure?

It seems as if the spring was putting too much pressure on that brush, or even a defective brush... The brand new starter, should be covered under warranty?
