Battery problems

Ws trying to lightly clean motor area and lightly wet the area. The cart is now "dead", battery will not take charge, but it does start when hooked up to a jump box. Did I short out the battery?

Hey and welcome to the site! The batteries are sealed off and are made to get wet, and actually should get wet during a cleaning to remove any acid annually. If I were you I would clean the terminals and check all the ground and battery connections to make sure they are tight both on the posts and follow the ground wire to the metal.
