The basic components involved in the adjustment include the brake pedal, brake cables, adjustment nuts and lock nuts. Locate the brake adjustment nuts on the brake cables. Loosen the lock nuts and then adjust the main nuts to tighten or loosen the cables checking for even tension on both sides to maintain balanced braking. Check the brake pedal play, it should move about an inch before the brakes engage. If the pedal still goes to the floor, you might need to inspect for cable wear or stretching and replace them if necessary.

When adjusting, look out for frayed or damaged parts and make sure the brake components are clean and free of debris. Remember to adjust in small increments and test the brakes frequently to avoid over tightening which can cause the brakes to drag. Apply a small amount of lubricant to the adjustment nuts to make future adjustments easier.

For detailed instructions refer to the attached Yamaha G8 brake guide, if you have any specific questions feel free to ask!
