85 Timing marks don't line up

My cam shaft broke and I can't make any of the timing marks on the new one line up without binding or hitting bottom of connecting rod. Counter balancer doesn't even line up.?. I can make it roll smoothly when all marks are off.

Found my problem, the gear on the end of the crank spun when the engine locked up. All that momentum has to go somewhere.
Local shop had a used crank, all back together.
