95 Yamaha Gas won't go

I have a 95 Yamaha gas cart. While driving it it lost power. Starter turns, have spark, getting gas, When gas pedal is depressed it will just about move. What does the ignitor do, where is it located and how do I check it? Thanks for any help

the igniter gives the coil spark, should be mounted on inside next to the f/r switch.

Thanks for the reply. Found the problem. After replacing the coil, pulser and ignitor it still wouldn't start. Removed the valve cover and found a broken push rod. Getting a new one today.
