G14 Carb. joint gasket?

OK I pulled my 1995 G14 carb because of a lean condition and found the plastic joint to have about 4 cracks in it.So another has been ordered. My question is, is there supposed to be a gasket between the joint and the head, mine had none but I see that they are listed on most sites, and it's difficult to tell from service manual. The parts list for your G-14 calls for 1 of each of these between the carb and the intake manifold:
PN J38-13556-01-00 GASKET, MANIFOLD
PN J38-13596-00-00 JOINT, CARBURETOR 2
PN J38-13557-01-00 GASKET
