I have a 2011 G 29 that would not go so I took the motor down. The brushes were stuck clean them up put it back and worked for about a day brushes stuck again so I decided to take the motor out of my easy go 36 V golf cart and put that on my Yamaha. It was a direct bolt up no problems, I was very excited about the power increase that some of the guys in the forms had talked about, but after bolting everything up and wiring everything up, I have nothing the cart does nothing the speed sensor that’s on the motor of the G2 nine is not the same on the other motor off the easy go so I’m wondering if my problem is there if there’s someway to jump those wires and eliminate the speed sensor or if the controller won’t work with this motor I’m confused anybody have any ideas? Please let me know.

The Yamaha G29 likely utilizes a Sepex (Separately Excited) motor setup, whereas the EZGO 36V cart might have a Series Wound motor configuration.
Let's look into the differences between these two motors to shed some light on the situation. In a Sepex motor, the armature and field windings are separately excited, meaning they receive power from different circuits. This setup offers greater control over speed and torque, making it suitable for golf carts requiring precise acceleration and braking. On the other hand, a Series Wound motor has the armature and field windings connected in series, resulting in higher starting torque but less precise speed control compared to Sepex motors.
Despite physical compatibility, their differing configurations can cause electronic compatibility issues. While physically mounting the motor onto your cart may seem straightforward, transitioning from a Series drive to a Sepex setup or, vice versa, typically requires more than just swapping motors. You'll usually need a Sepex controller, complete wiring harness, Run/Tow switch, F/R switch, and wiring in the speed sensor if it's missing from the setup you have.
