2015 YDRE Surges, now doesn't work

I have a 2015 YDRE. We've had issues with it surging while driving. We tested and ultimately replaced the throttle sensor. When we tested the old one the resistance was way off. Now that we've replaced the switch nothing works. About to go back to the old switch but I think the problem actually lies elsewhere. Is there some kind of system reset we need to do when messing with the electrical system?
