Forward/Reverse switch

I have a new f/r switch for my g16 yamaha. Put in in and Now I have know power at all. Not sure what the problem is or where to start looking for the problem I believe all the wires are connected corectly. Now whAT?

Hey tbrad What was the problem you were having before the f/r switch swap?

f/r switch

Hard to switch from forward to reverse. Grinding. then I noticed the covers for the wire burned. I don't have any power . i bypased the switched and the motor worked fine forward/reverse. I'm thinking it is the solenoid.
