80 hd no gas in carb

hi i have a 80 hd cart new carb,new fuel lines,new fuel strainer . everything is new on fuel system. but i have to shoot carb cleaner in it to get it to start then it runs great. shut it off let it sit for 5 10 min and it will start right up. let it set 20 min and you have to use carb cleaner to start it. do i have something set wrong or should i put a electric fuel pump on it ? thanks for any help

It could be one of the following.... You have low compression, should be about 130psi plus. Or the fuel pump is not pumping, some you can rebuild you may want to check it out and clean it up.
