I can download the EV48-400-C file for my new 2024 Evolution Classic 2 Plus golf cart zip file, extract it and my HP laptop “Security” will not let me run it. Any thoughts here?

It might be as simple as just right clicking the installer and running it as an administrator

Yup, problem solved, program is up and running. I also needed to answer this Windows Defender warning several times; “Do you want to let this program make changes to your computer?” I was brave, said “Yes”. Up and running thank you, many times over, Thank you!

OK, I am a newbie to this forum, and I feel a bit like a “begger” for information but, here goes… I am seeking “settings” for increasing both the low speed and high speed settings on my new 2024 Evolution Classic 2 Plus golf cart. Our golf cart is a Low Speed Vehicle, fully licensed and insured. My wife and I live 2-1/2 miles from our golf complex. We travel on a 35 mph street, going 25 mph while traffic is running closer to 45 mph. Is there somebody out there that has made these types of speed increase changes and could forward that information/settings to me, so I do not have to reinvent the wheel thru trial and error.

OK, I have successfully connected my HP laptop to my 2024 Evolution Classic 2 Plus. When I first plugged the cable into laptop, it recognized the cable. Everything looks perfect, except… I cannot “connect” laptop to vehicle. Missing a “driver”? Any thoughts here?

It sounds like you may need the D2XX driver from FTDI for your laptop to communicate through your cable. Even though the laptop recognized the cable, without this specific driver, it can not establish a true connection to the interface.

Go to www.ftdichip.com/drivers and select D2XX Drivers

On the FTDI drivers page, the "D2XX" driver refers to the specific set of USB drivers designed to interface with FTDI's USB to serial (USB to UART) converters. The D2XX driver provides direct access to the USB device using a custom FTDI API allowing the application to communicate directly with FTDI chips without requiring the traditional Virtual COM Port (VCP) method.

Thank you for all the information. I am embarrassed to say my issue was “operator error”. After installing the driver, from previous conversations, I failed to shut down my laptop and then restart. After the restart, I now have 100% communication with my vehicle. A big sigh of relief, and again, “Thank you” for supporting a fellow, lost sheep thru this process.

The “lost sheep” is here again. I have full communication with my new 2024 Evolution Classis 2 Plus golf cart controller. I have “fooled around” with numbers in multiple categories, with no success. I have re-changed all of the “fooled around” numbers back to original numbers. My question; Is there somebody out there that knows what menus/categories/numbers can be changed to gain more speed?

Ah, it’s always good to hear from the “lost sheep”! It sounds like you’ve been having some fun experimenting. It’s possible the dealer has already maxed out the RPM and speed parameters. If they’ve already set these values to their highest allowable levels, there may not be much room left to gain speed just by adjusting numbers. If not, make sure any new settings are saving properly

The “lost sheep” would like to whole-heartily agree with your assessment of my situation. Motor RPM’s are/were maxed out at 6,000, by the dealer. The software gives me the ability to adjust torque levels at different RPM levels and also adjust the ReGen braking. Disappointed I cannot squeeze out a couple more mph, but still enjoying our new golf cart. OK, software and speed are now in the rear view mirror. My next puzzle to solve is… a DoorWorks, hinged door installation on my new 2024 Evolution Classic 2 Plus golf cart. My wife and live in Las Vegas, winter is coming. I have the DoorWorks parts/pieces/instructions laid out in the garage. Are there any “special” hints/instructions that could assist me, prior to me digging into this task? Finally, a “Thank you” for rescuing a “lost sheep”, now found!!
