1988-1989 Ez-go gas - idle issues

Hello. My golf cart continues to idle when at a complete stop - with my foot off the accelerator. If I tap on the accelerator it usually will stop idling, but not always. Any ideas? Thanks.

Your solenoid is probably sticking, when it does that tap on the solenoid with a hammer a bit. If that makes it stop replace the solenoid.

Thanks. I ended-up cleaning the micro-switch with electrical parts cleaner. Cart seems to be working fine now.
