The drive clutch can wear out over time due to regular use. Inside the clutch, parts like the sheaves and rollers can start to wear down. This wear makes it hard for the clutch to grip the belt properly, causing it to slip. When the clutch slips, it can't transfer power from the engine to the wheels as well, leading to a loss of torque. This means your golf cart might struggle to speed up or climb hills. Keeping an eye on the clutch and replacing worn parts when needed can help maintain your cart's power and performance. Start by replacing the belt to see if there is a slight improvement. You could also consider replacing the belt or upgrading to a G-Boost belt if available.
I also want to ask if you can run a compression check on the engine. Compression readings tell us how well the engine's cylinders are sealing and how efficiently it's running. Good compression is needed for maintaining power and torque. If the compression is low, it could mean the engine is worn out, which can also lead to a loss of torque. Mainly we are looking for a reading well above 100PSIRegards
