  • 2022 EZ GO EX1 VALOR

Ok so have a 2022 Valor EX1 gas. Just died and no longer does nothing. No fuel pump no headlights. Horn works and reverse beeper works but does nothing else. Checked ignition switch, pedal switch and fuse and relays all seem good? Any ideas other than the ISG module? Or is there a way to check if that’s actually if?

You can try disconnecting the 10a fuse by the battery, waiting 15 seconds, then reinstalling it. This was reported as a fix in this similar thread here

Yes, done that and it worked for a few minutes.. Let sit in Garage, would go by it and for several days it would start right up. Now there's nothing and battery is good. Tried fuse again also tried unhooking battery and left unhooked for a day. went back to it. Nothing.. Thank You!!

The starting circuit is controlled by the key switch, fuse, accelerator limit switch, and the ISG controller. With the key switch in the ON position, battery current is available to the accelerator limit switch which remains open until the accelerator pedal is depressed. When the pedal is pressed, the plunger on the switch is released, the contacts close, and the ignition circuit is energized. Battery current then energizes the solenoid (relay) which closes the contacts and energizes the starter circuit. The starter/generator now functions as a starter to start the engine.

You've already done some good diagnostics work so far, but there are some additional proactive measures you can take before replacing the ISG module, which I should mention, has been known to go bad due to heat and vibration (see this thread post number 6).

        1) Replace the battery with a known good battery
        2) Check for loose grounds using the attached wiring diagram
        3) Pull the main wiring harness connectors and ECU/ISG connectors and clean them with dry compressed air, check the condition of the engine ground on the top of the engine, look for any additional loose grounds.
        4) Run through the attached troubleshooting chart and see where voltage drops off using a DVM and attached wiring diagram
        5) If you happen to get power temporarily, check for fault codes using the attached guide (unlikely but worth a shot)
        6) Keep us in the loop, we are interested in knowing how things go
        7) Reach out to EZGO on their website and social media, more hype around this common issue puts the pressure to get a fix rolled out promptly.
