  • firing issues, Robin EH29C

I have a ez go golf cart with a Robin EH29C motor. It has a white wire on the top of the oil sending unit, where does it connect or does it? I am having firing issues, Im thinking it may be like a murphy switch because it isnt hooked up, I cant find another wire it may have been connected too? Im thinking if thats not the problem, maybe its the magneto? I've replaced the igniter and coil, this all started when the starter solenoid went out, replaced it and the motor cranks as it should but somehow I lost fire, any help would be appreciated thank you..

You'd be surprised how often the fix boils down to just a good cleaning of the grounds. A solid ground connection is key for electrical flow and when those connections get gunked up, well, it's like trying to start a campfire with wet wood...nothing's gonna fire properly. Now if you've got that original OEM ignition coil lying around, consider reinstalling it. The OEM ezgo coil is top notch and far superior to the aftermarket ones you find out there. Reinstall that OEM coil and run a ground wire from the mounting plate straight to the battery negative. That extra bit of grounding can work wonders for your ignition system helping it start up reliably every time. Im attaching the eh29c coil testing procedure and wiring diagram, if you have any specific questions feel free to ask!

My coil does not look like that one. It is the more flatter kind. It is a 72866. Would it still work like what you have posted. Mine get a reading on the primary that blinks a number then disappears. The post running to the spark plugs read zero. I hope that it is what is bad. I have the same symptoms as pappy-jerry.

        Welcome to the group

The 72866 style ignition coil typically came into play around 04 through 2007, attached is the proper coil test procedure for that style.
