i have a 1990 ezgo i just bought. dont know much about golf carts. the # on the engine says eh 290 robbins. the problem i have is it is either wide open or off no in between. pusy the gas pedal down about a quarter of the way its starts fine but goes wide open about 18mph let off gas just a little and engine stops. can anybody help me im sure its just an adjustment

You have to watch the movement on the carburetor, while pressing on the gas with the ignition turned off. Somewhere, the throttle is going closed to fully open while the pedal is only being pressed a little. Unfortunately I am not there and can not show you where the problem lies, but if you sit there for a while and press the pedal while watching the throttle movements you will eventually find where the problem lies.
