Can anyone tell me what the fluid spec. is for the axle/drive unit in a 1997 EZ-GO workhorse EH35C. What little came out didn't smell like 90 weight gear oil. I'm assuming it was engine oil. Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for reaching out about this question. The correct fluid specification for the axle/drive differential unit in a 1997 EZGO Workhorse is SAE 30 oil. You're correct that it's not 90 weight gear oil, it's actually SAE 30 oil that you'll need to use. The correct level is just below the bottom of the threaded check hole. I've attached a picture for reference. If you need to add lubricant, simply remove the fill plug and use a funnel to add SAE 30 oil until it pours out the check hole. Hope this helps!
