  • New to Golf Cart World, slamming on brakes

Good afternoon all, I recently purchased a 2022 EZGO RXV golf cart. I have never had a golf cart before, just bought this one from an individual but am now having an issue. When accelerating it randomly will slam on the brakes and come to a complete stop. If you drive around at anything less than full throttle, it won't do it. But if you start out full throttle once it gets to higher speeds it just slams on the brakes. Here is what I know about it. It was converted about a year ago to lithium, it's in great mechanical shape other than the braking issue. The lady I bought it from usually just tooled around the golf course on it in her community so I am pretty sure she wasn't aware of the issue, and I am sure if I told her there was a problem then she would offer to buy it back but honestly I really like the cart and don't want to go that route. My son in law is very mechanical so we are hoping it's something we can fool around with this weekend and diagnose/repair. Any one had this experience before with theirs or can suggest where we start?

motor brake is common and could be on its way out, maybe pull it to clean an check for wear / damage

65ah is good for stock setups like 18" wheels and 2 passengers max on flat ground, anything more and you're tripping the BMS. u should connect to it through bluetooth and see what statistics you can pull in the app, some more info on low aH lithium batteries here
