  • Quick question

Hi. I’m trying to change my tires and rims out to a second set that I have. The problem is that when I try and loosen a couple of the lugs on the front ties…the tire spins and won’t allow me to. I tried putting something under the tire. I tried putting a brick behind the tire.
any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

If you are in a pinch, to prevent the wheel from spinning you can drive the cart over a long 2 x 4 (or 2 x 6, or 2 x 8, whichever you have on hand), then loop a ratchet strap around the tire, and hooks around the wood, and ratchet it down. If the lug nuts are really corroded and tight, consider buying or borrowing an impact wrench with at least 1000 ft/lb of torque, though this might not always be sufficient. Spraying PB Blaster or WD-40 on the lug nuts daily for a few days can also help a lot in loosening them.
