  • Cart will not run in 100 degree temperature

I have a used cart with new and fully charged batteries. The cart runs in the morning when it is cool, then does not in high, humid temperature in the afternoon. Is this normal?

Hey, it’s an ezgo electric, could u post pics or the year and a little backstory on the cart??

also, I’m curious, Does it run and shut off like a thermal shutdown situation?

It is a 2006 EZGO. Purchased in April. It had used batteries, so I had new ones installed. My first cart and run it about 5 miles per day. It has not shut off. It runs in the morning when it is cool outside, but will not move after temperatures rise in the afternoon. As I said, batteries are fully charged. Monitor reflects fully charged batteries, no response to depressing pedal.

As long as your throttle input and motor brushes are OK i suspect your controller is on its way out

Are you comfortable using a voltage meter and keen on doing a little wire tracing and troubleshooting next time the problem occurs?

Assuming all the connections and wires are clean, tight, and intact, it might be the controller starting to fail. We’ll need to troubleshoot it when the problem happens to confirm. Could you let me know what powertrain you have using the attached guide? Then I can provide you with the specific information you need.
