Conversion to Lithium

Hello, I'm new to the golf cart world. Looking at purchasing an older model and convert to lithium. I'm looking at a 2001 TXT (36V). I believe it has original components (motor, controller). Is there any reason why I would not be able to convert to lithium batteries?
I've read up on how relatively simple it is, but don't want to make any assumptions. Thanks for you help!

Easy, just remove lead acid and drop lithium iron phosphate. My was a 2013 rex with 4 12 volt batteries. Now the fun part, all my accessories would not come on, golf shop said need to add a 48 volt to 12 volt convertor. That is the fun part now for me, now needing help myself.
