  • Unusual wiring diagram

I recently purchased a 94/95 EZGO Medalist (at least I think that's what it is). While I was going through the battery cleaning process I came across a wire and component that has confused me. My best guess is that the wire is a 12 volt tap across the 36 volt battery bank but it goes to ground via this weird component that has to be a fuse. I've verified that if I remove it, the 12 volt devices like horn, lights, backup beeper stop working. I've included a couple photos to get your opinion because I'm confused how the wire goes to ground (the frame) but provides a 12 volt tap. Can there be more than one ground like...one off the frame (for the 12v stuff) and another off the axle or some other place isolated from the frame (for the 36v motor)? If anyone can give me an explanation...much appreciated!
