Recently bought a 96 txt no pds. Has the 3 12v batteries. Installed a digital volt meter and it reads 37.6v after a charge. When moving it flucuates with the amount of pedal I'm using from 36v-33. Is this normal? Should it stay around 36v no matter if I'm moving or not? Also is the charger supposed to shut off automatically once charged?

First off, 12v batteries are normally not used for golf cart power. But, as the motor gets more amperage to go faster, the voltage will drop on the batteries, so that is normal. You won't get the same use cycle from 12v batteries as you would from 6- 6 volt batteries. Most cart chargers will shut off automatically and newer chargers will go into a maintenance mode once the batteries are fully charged.
