having problems with 2001 ezgo electric 36v going slow

just bought a 2001 36v ezgo and I knew it was having issues but as soon as I pulled it off my trailer it was working great! Perfect to be exact! I set the brake and then it started going very slowly. Top speed was 5! before when it was running great, top speed was 17. Huge difference! I called the guy i bought it from and he said the same thing happened to him. He had the solenoid replaced and I didn't see a speed sensor that I could change out. I guess I am having problems with the speed control box. Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do to fix it? my control box is curtis pmc 73326g05. I can't even find any online to buy. please let me know whats up if you can help.

realized that if you turn the key off and then on again while it is rolling forward that it will engage and run properly until you stop again over a period of time.
