How to test motor 92 ezgo 36 volt

I bought a used 1992 ezgo 36 volt cart put new batteries in and nothing. I have determined one swicth on back of forward and reverse switch is bad it sends current to the variable speed swicth and then to the solenoid. I jumped the wires solenoid clicks but still motor does nothing. Before I put any more money into it I want to make sure motor is good. So what is procedure to jump motor to test if its good thanks
