  • new here curtis controller

Hi im new here just picked up a 98 ezgo for $200 It has a curtis 1205-117 controller. I have been reading that it is a 400 amp controller. So is that enough controller to put a 6 inch lift with 14 inch rims and low profile tires and back seat.

It’s probably enough controller for your setup, especially since you have a series cart, which is known for torque rather than speed. Series systems are great for tasks like hunting, riding on soft or uneven ground, and pulling extra weight, such as a back seat and passengers. The 400 amp controller gives you a good amount of power to handle those demands.

There are some limitations to keep in mind. Series carts can run hot under certain conditions especially with larger wheels and a lift. If you're doing a lot of uphill driving or carrying heavy loads over long distances, the controller or cables could overheat which can eventually cause wear. In these situations, upgrading the controller and wires or adding a cooling fan might be something to consider down the line. But for most casual use, especially on packed dirt or trails, you should be in good shape.
