The last thing you want to hear after charging your cart is that your batteries aren’t performing as expected. But just because the charger finishes its cycle doesn’t necessarily mean your batteries are in good condition. This attached state of charge chart will help you determine if your batteries are holding a proper charge. If the batteries are reading below their expected voltage, they may need to be replaced. Run an individual load test on each battery.
If the batteries check out and are holding a proper charge, the issue could be due to a bad connection. Loose or corroded connections can impede the flow of electricity, causing intermittent performance issues like the ones you’re experiencing. Inspect all battery cables, terminals, and connectors for signs of corrosion or looseness. Clean and tighten any connections as needed.
Another possible cause could be a failing micro switch. The micro switch is the small component that detects the position of the accelerator pedal. If it's on the way out, it might not always make proper contact, causing issues when trying to engage. Over time, these switches can wear out or become dirty, leading to inconsistent operation. Inspect the micro switch for signs of wear or damage and consider replacing it if it seems faulty. If you have any questions just ask!
