It normal for the batteries to start to bubble when charging. The older the batteries the more they will bubble. First of all most chargers are set to about a 10 to 11 hour timer. Does the current meter stay at a high charge 15 amps or better or does it go down to about 5 amps. Check the specific gravity on each cell after charging. What is your voltage after charging? you may have weak or dead cells causing the charger to over charge

The charger will get down to about 3 amps then won't shut off. I charged all night then in the morning I smelled acid and one of the battery's blew up. #6. I think the battery's are getting week. After charged I have about 39 volts.
