  • How do I tap into 36 volt system to get 12 volts?

    Hi,
    New to the forum,
I have a 36 volt 92 Ezgo Cushman that I just purchased. It needed batteries, so I purchased 3 12 volt deep cycle batteries instead of 6 six volt batteries. The cart runs fine with the 3, 12 volt batteries.
Now I need to know how to tap into the 36 volts system to get 12 volts to my fusebox for my accessories? When the cart had 6 volt batteries in it, it had 1 wire going from about the middle battery negative to the fuse box.
Do I need to tap into one of the 12 volt batteries ?
I tried running a wire from one negative battery to the fusebox and tested for 12 volts at the fuse box and I was not getting 12 volts?
Do golf carts have grounded frame's?
    Need help, thanks

If your happy with the batteries and performance then any one battery to the fuse box will give you what you need pull both negative and positive to the fuse box and feed everything from those two wires. now make the wires long enough in the battery compartment to reach any of the three batteries and switch which battery you use every so often.

or use a 36 to 12 volt converter your choice
