For cart use, the AH or Ampere Hour rating is your best guide. The higher the number, the better the battery.
For example: The Trojan 860 and 890 are similar batteries. However the 890 has a 20 hour rating of 190 while the 860 is only 150. In terms possibly more familiar, with the 890 were it in a car, you could crank the starter nearly 33 percent longer than you could with the 860, before the battery's useable power was drained.
The manufacture of the battery is much less important. But, you'll probably find the Trojan's advertise an advantage in almost every rating group.
