  • EZGO PDS 2006, intermittant power $ speed problems

Problems began with having no power at times which would usually resolve within less than a minute or two. Backing out of drive, would run about 40 ft forward with pedal down and stop. Then would start up again and go a full round of golf with no problems. Checked all connections, tightened ones that were loose, and seemed to be fine.
Now this morning played first 9 holes with cart going max of 5 mph while showing full charge. Got a cart from club for 2nd 9 holes and when I got in my cart to come home, was back up to normal 19 mph. Does anyone have any ideas? Run and stop issue appears to have morphed into a speed issue. Any help appreciated~

The problem is most likely going to be in the large wires, or related parts.
motor, controller, batteries, battery wires, and solenoid. you will need to
put your volt meter on the battery pack and drive it note voltage when this
happens note voltage, if voltage drops then its a bad wire or battery if voltage does
not drop its something past that point and we will go there if needed.

Another thing to check if this happens and your meter is not handy feel all the battery wires, solenoid, controller, Batteries, motor at all connections for heat if any feel hotter than the others then there is resistance there and this will cause problems. You really need to remove all large wires one at a time and clean with a wire brush including the terminals even if they look good.

Thanks, will try all that. Just replaced all battery cables and cleaned posts on batteries. Noticed solenoid looks like it has been hot on one side, kind of blurred where the nut goes on, and that is the side where the red wire was burned off. Put new end on that, still having problems. Thinking may need to replace solenoid, but will try what you suggest today and report back. Thanks so much for the response.

solenoid seems to be getting hot, will change it out and hope that will take care of things.
Anyone know where to get a good one for less?

excellent thanks for keeping us informed. Its great when people get things fixed and inform the rest of us what the problem was, we can all learn from this.
