We bought a used cart and the Powerwise charger is wired in directly (not using the charging plug) What effects if any can this have with cart operation? I am a "Newbie" and this thing has me stumped. Working on heavy duty trucks is a breaze compared to this cart! The cart stops running above 85 F ambient temperature.

About your hardwired powerwise charger here's the deal.. They had to address the safety interlock first, like the reed switch in the 2000 PDS model. If you look youll see they probably connected the small wire in the receptacle to the battery pack's main positive terminal, then chopped off the plug from the charger and wire white to positive, black to negative. Skip this step, and the cart might refuse to run.
Definitely convenient but think about the charger, constant bumps, shakes, possible water, and dirt can really stress it out, especially since it's not designed for that rough stuff. And if it's one of those coil and core transformer types, it needs some air to cool down while it's charging. Hardwiring can mess with that leading to potential overheating issues. So just make sure read up about the interlock and keep an eye on your charger's health to avoid any hiccups.
