  • Cleaning F/R Contacts EZ-GO Series

My 2000 EZ-GO doesn't always want to go in reverse especially when the contacts are cold. After going forward a bit reverse rarely is problematic.

The unit with the cam and micro switches has some oil about the unit. Can this unit be disassembled and cleaned with acetone, denatured alcohol or lacquer thinner and lubricated with an electrical contact spray?

Are special tools required to disassembly or are there any quirks about the way parts are fitted back together for reassembly that I should be aware?

Also, is it normal for the unit to very hot?

    Thanks

Nope not normal it's either dirty or bad wore out . Yes you can take them apart And clean them or sand them flat.
