  • Cart won't go

It started when my 2001 ezgo would not go when the weather was warmer. I know it sounds strange but in the morning or any time the weather was cool it was ok and ran but when the weather warmed up it would not go. The selonoid was clicking or engaging and then it stopped clicking so I replaced it with a new one but it does no click when I push the foot pedal. What do I check next?

First thing is to put a meter on the solenoids two small terminals and step on the pedal, you most likely will read nothing. Is this a G19 is anything else not working like no buzzer in reverse.

You should have a Red with yellow stripe RY and Red with black stripe wire RB going to the small terminals on the solenoid if you ground the RB wire to the battery PACK - ground with the Run/Tow switch on it should click. Next we will need to test the main switch and the accelerator switch.

let me know what you find and we will move on. Also this sounds normal for a bad connection, some work when cold and others work when warm they need to get on the same page.

I get 0 reading on the small terminals. The old or new solinoid does not click, the reverse buzzer does not beep. I have a new Ignition ordered, should be here any day, I get no reading on the two ignition wires. How do I know if it is a G19? On the battery side of large terminal I get 37.7 and other side 37.0 and 37.7 reading on battery pack. Thanks for your help!

Make certain every connection is clean and dry. If you want to use dielectric grease on the smaller connectors, that's fine. But corrosion and moisture can create the symptoms you mention. As the battery salesman was trying to get my cart to respond to the new batts, he noticed one of the connectors had some corrosion inside on the terminal pins. The solenoid was clicking, the beeper was sounding but the cart wouldn't move. A pin file to the connector and all was well with the world.

I guess I need to know the most likely reason the solenoid does not engage or click when I push the foot pedal. To complete the testing I have to push the foot pedal until it engages to make the test at the 4 pin plug connection.

Put a jumper wire on the two small terminals and put one on + of battery pack and the other on - of pack and try to drive it. If it moves then it's either the key switch are the micro switch at the throttle.I would start at the micro switch under the floor mat on drivers side.

You can jumper the micro switch out to and see if it works.

I don't mean to sound dumb and I understand the jumper on the small terminals but what am I putting on the + and - of pack, from where to where. My solinoid get the same reading on the battery side as the pack of 37.7 and other side 37.1.

              Thanks
