  • 6" lift kit rear tire alignment

After I installed my 6" lift kit my rear tires don't sit squarely under the wheel well. Is this normal?

It sounds like you're noticing that your rear tires aren't sitting squarely or centered under the wheel wells. This isn’t typical, as your rear wheels should sit evenly on both sides with equal clearance within the wheel wells. If your rear tires are misaligned or shifted, it suggests that something might not have gone as planned during the installation, especially if everything was sitting nice and square before.

If your tires are not centered, a few things could have gone wrong during the installation. It's possible that some lift kit components weren't installed correctly or that part of the suspension or axle might be misaligned. In some cases, the rear axle can shift during the lift process if it's not properly secured. Additionally, the lift kit itself might have a design flaw or be incompatible with your model, leading to this issue.

Some lift kits require the use of an adjustable track bar to recenter the axle for proper alignment. If any additional components were not included or installed, the rear axle could remain off center leading to the misalignment you're seeing.

It’s also possible that the lift kit installation caused a change in the pinion angle, which could also affect how the rear wheels sit in relation to the wheel wells. If the pinion angle is off, it can lead to vibrations and may even cause the axle to shift slightly which could contribute to the tires not sitting correctly.

Adding pictures would give us a visual of the alignment problem making it easier to suggest any appropriate adjustments. Could you provide pictures of the rear suspension and wheel wells, as well as any documentation that came with the lift kit, such as installation instructions or diagrams? Additionally, let us know the year and model of your club car. The documentation will help with understanding the setup and any potential compatibility issues. If you have any additional questions feel free to ask!
