Can someone please help me find a wiring diagram or photos of a solenoid for a 2006 carryall 252

  • #2
On the small posts of the solenoid, you'll typically find blue and orange wires connected. These wires carry the low voltage signal that activates the solenoid. These connections have no polarity, meaning it doesn’t matter which wire connects to which small post. This is because the solenoid’s coil is simply an electromagnet, and the current can flow through the coil in either direction to create the necessary magnetic field.

In addition to these small posts, there are several connections to the large posts of the solenoid. These large posts are the primary conduits for high current flow. One post typically connects to the positive terminal of the battery, while the other connects to the starter or another high-power component in the golf cart. When the solenoid is activated by the small posts, the internal contacts close, allowing high current to flow between these large posts and power the starter or other components.

Inside the solenoid, there's a coil of wire known as the electromagnet. When voltage is applied to the coil, it generates a magnetic field that pulls a plunger or armature, closing the circuit between the two large posts and allowing current to flow through. I am attaching the wiring diagram to this post with the solenoid highlighted in red. If you have any questions feel free to ask!
