Its possible the issue you're experiencing might be related to the use of aftermarket parts. Aftermarket ignition components, such as voltage regulators and ignition coils, are often not built to the same quality standards as Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. They usually can not handle the realtime load demands of your engine as effectively. This is particularly true for the 2006 Club Car Precedent, where precise electrical and mechanical tolerances are important.

Another step would be to consider the RPM limiter. The RPM limiter is a safety feature designed to prevent the engine from overrevving, but it can sometimes cause issues if it malfunctions. Disabling the RPM limiter is a useful troubleshooting step to rule out its involvement in your cart’s problems. To do this, locate the brown ground wire connected to the RPM limiter and disconnect it. This wire is usually found mounted on the engine block.

By disconnecting the brown ground wire, you effectively disable the RPM limiter. If your cart starts reliably after this modification, it indicates that the RPM limiter was likely causing the issue. This step can help isolate the problem, giving you a clearer direction for further repairs. However, keep in mind that this is a diagnostic step and should not be a permanent solution, as the RPM limiter is needed for engine protection.
