How Do I remove the governor and rev limiter on a gas Club Car? 2009

Defeating the rev limiter you are risking serious damage to your engine. Most cart engines are very mild cam timing with weak springs, plus very lean fuel settings. The engine will run very hot and too many rpms will damage the valves when they hit the piston.

I bought a tach. What RPM range is considered safe?

Use the tach to see where the rev limiter kicks in that is the safe rpm. Probably around 4500.

I defeated the govenor by loosening the 11mm nut on the transaxle. went for 16mph to 24 mph and then rev kicks in. have not installed tach yet. cant find coil yet so i can hook to neg.
