clutch to clutch measurement?

1984 CC KF82 - 341CC flathead. Does anyone know what the measurement should be between the drive clutch shaft and the driven clutch shaft on this CC? Cannot find it online or in my manual. I see from other postings that a 1991 is 9.625". Not sure it would be the same for a 1984 or not. It seems it has way too much slack in the belt to me. Adjustment would be loosening engine mount bolts and moving forward I assume? Thanks.

That would be correct, anytime you adjust the slack be aware that at idle you want the driven clutch to be at rest, slightly turning has been ok on my cart.
